A young multifaceted writer with more interests than one can keep up with.
Discovering writing at a young age, Tiara Vasquez fell in love with the concept of storytelling after continuously experiencing the emotional roller coasters that her favorite stories would take her on, from authors such as Annette Curtis Klause to film writers such as Kevin Smith, Tiara has found joy in the art of story telling regardless of the medium. At one point, she decided that it was her life goal to write at least one piece in every medium possible, until she discovered that could very well end up being an impossible feat. She’s still figuring that one out.
Starting off with the Dark Nursery Diary series, Tiara began writing Fallen Ribbon in 2009 and has since then gone through multiple rewrites and revisions until finally settling on a final draft in 2021. In 2012 she joined a summer internship program at a creative writing center in Boston known as Grubstreet. There she had her first short story, The Fall, published in an anthology titled One Day We Rise and We Are Everywhere. Since then she has worked on bits and pieces for the Dark Nursery Diary series including the start of the second part of the story and some smaller stand alone short stories as well that tie into the series.
Since high school, she went on to become a single mother, taking what felt like a “forever break” from all her interests and dedicated herself to getting back on her feet in her early adult years. In 2019, feeling unfulfilled in life, Tiara would enroll into college as a Civil Engineering major, pulling out of school suddenly in 2022 due to financial stresses and not enough time in the world to maintain both a full time job and be a full time STEM student as well. Instead she focused on her career in the food industry in the hopes of one day opening her own late night dessert café lounge.
Nowadays you can find Tiara happily either writing again or baking something sweet and delicious in her kitchen.
