Welcome to the Fallen Ribbon Launch Campaign!
Today marks the first day of a 90 Day Launch Campaign I am running in anticipation of the launch of my first novel, Fallen Ribbon! This has been a long time coming for me, I began writing the story back in 2009 and it has gone through many rewrites, revisions, and editing, but I am finally happy to announce that it is in the final phase of the self-publishing process!
This launch campaign is going to be comprised of me posting and promoting Fallen Ribbon as well as building an audience for my book. In the first month I plan to post once a week, introducing everyone to the book and my process. You’ll learn about who I am, the world I have built for the story, and I will take you on a journey to see the first days of having it out in the world. During the second month, my posts will increase to two times per week; I will begin to write more about the inside of Fallen Ribbon, introduce the main characters and other ideas as well. In the final month, I will go from posting three times a week during the first half of the month to every day during the final two weeks of the campaign leading into launch day.
Alongside my postings, I have put together a team of First Readers for the launch campaign who will read the book during the first month, provide feedback, and help promote its launch. I will be working alongside them throughout the 90 days to polish up the book before it gets finalized for its ISBN’s. They will get first sneak peaks into the juicy bits of the book and priority of any questions answered regarding the book once everyone on the team has finished reading it. I am hoping this process will go smoothly working with them and I hope they enjoy reading the manuscript as I have worked hard for years to get the story to where it is now.
Writing was my first love before anything else, as I developed a love for storytelling before I was in double digits. This love was first nurtured through the books I would read from kid friendly stories such as Harry Potter to dark heartbreaking coming of age dramas such as Looking for Alaska, to name a couple. Regardless of the topic of my readings, the worlds of fantasy and supernatural fiction always held a special place in my heart, therefore it’s only fitting that the first big and long-term project to bring me into the literary world would be one of those genres.
The idea behind Fallen Ribbon was conceived one day while on a bus on my way home from school in the eighth grade while listening to an album titled, “Until There’s Nothing Left of Us” by Kill Hannah, an indie rock band whose beautiful harmonic vocals and instrumentals reached a part of my soul that nothing else could in my inspiration to write. Before listening to Kill Hannah, I had always had ideas for stories and already had a taste for it through the books, t.v shows, and movies that I experienced, but nothing ever truly inspired me like Kill Hannah did. I will always remember the moment I first thought of Fallen Ribbon, and one of these days, I will delve deeper into it with you all.
To give you all a sense of what Fallen Ribbon is all about, it is the story of half vampire half angel young woman named Geordie Vollner, alone in a world where she is avoided as a pariah amongst the vampires but hunted as an abomination by the angels. She longs to find her place in a world where turmoil and war is brewing at every corner, but somehow finds solace in an unexpected friendship with a peculiar human who doesn’t quite seem so human, Matt Hallow. Unsure of Matt’s true heritage, together he and Geordie team up to find the truth behind their origins and find allies in a truly unforgiving and faithless world.
For now, look forward to my upcoming blog posts regarding the debut of my first novel, completely self-published, on Thursdays! You can find my newest blog post on my website and I will give everyone a heads up reminder on my Facebook page and twitter on Wednesday before posting and the Monday following the post. Remember to Like and Follow my Facebook and Twitter pages for updates, and don’t forget to purchase Fallen Ribbon when it launches nationwide Late Summer 2024!
