The Dark Nursery Diaries Series Plan

Good Morning Readers!  Welcome to another day in the final countdown to the launch of my debut novel, Fallen Ribbon!  Cue the song by Europe.  There are only two days left before it comes out and I couldn’t be more all aboard the hype train by now!  As the promotional campaign comes to a close and Fallen Ribbon’s launch nears, I have already begun drafting the second book of the series and taking notes down for the remainder of the series.

For a long time, the plan was originally to have the series be a pentalogy, a series of five books, but as I mentioned I had to split apart Fallen Ribbon.  It went from being a three-part book to a two part book and that third part became the second book of the series, turning the series into a HEXALOGY!  Yeah, I definitely learned those words… recently.  Hey, it’s never too late to learn new words and use them correctly!

So, while I finalize Fallen Ribbon’s launch, I’ve also begun taking notes for each chapter of the second book, which I will not be revealing any details of at this time.  But once I’ve finished drafting the novel up, I do plan on taking the next few weeks to a couple months off from writing to enjoy some of my other hobbies and continue to plan my 30th birthday celebrations.  I’ll continue to passively promote Fallen Ribbon and try to grow a following which will also consist of my trying to get Fallen Ribbon into some libraries to start as well as some local bookstores.  This will all take some time and have some out of pocket costs so it will take some time to do, but if I am successful in getting my book into these fronts, then it will be worth it.

The one basic detail of the series I will reveal, however, is the timeline of the series.  Between Fallen Ribbon, Book 1 of The Dark Nursery Diaries and Book 3 the story takes place over the course of almost two years.  During the entirety of that part of the story, Book 4 takes place actually from a little bit before Fallen Ribbon to a little bit after Book 3 to fully wrap up that side of the story.  Then the last two books, 5 and 6 will take place during the following generation as the world stews in the results of the events of Books 1-4.  That’s all I will say about it for now, but rest assured many of the vital plot details have been already decided, I just need to flesh them out and put them into real drafts other than notes.

Now, aside from the core series, I do have plans for some side stories, specifically a few anthologies and diary format books covering some of the other aspects of the world in lieu of the main story events.  I have at least two other side projects in this universe to start, possibly even a third depending on their prospective reception.  It will probably be a little while before I really get started on any of those projects to be completely honest.

In the meantime, look forward to the content that is about to come out in two days time, Fallen Ribbon book 1 of The Dark Nursery Diaries Series!  It’s out in all formats, on Thursday August 15th 2024!
