Release Date Reveal!
Good morning, Readers!
Welcome back to another blog post of the Dark Nursery Diaries! Today we are eight weeks into the promotional campaign, and it is finally time to reveal the release date! A lot of factors went into deciding when the release of Fallen Ribbon would happen, but the biggest factor was honestly time. Timing it out perfectly was key to making sure I could make the deadlines I set for myself on time and stay on track. I originally wanted to release the book much earlier than the finalized release date but as most are aware, things happen in life.
My original projected release date was supposed to be the end of June 2024 based on the idea of starting the promotional campaign at the beginning of April. I did a lot of research about promoting a new book ahead of its launch date and that’s honestly how I found myself blogging now. A lot of experts gave the advice of promoting a month ahead of the book’s launch date over the course of a month to three months, dependent on resources and money of course, so I decided to give myself 90 days or three months effectively.
My life is basically always full to the rim as many people would know just by taking a quick glance at my calendar on my phone. Therefore, I wanted to allot myself enough time to organize a promotional launch and still maintain a semi-normal life schedule of work, parenting, and socializing. 90 days seemed like a reasonable amount of time to do just that and keep myself sane at the same time. Especially since my brain has been torn between two worlds, the world of Fallen Ribbon and the world I built in my Dungeons and Dragons campaign. Yes, I am that nerdy.
Setting aside time to have a creative outlet already proves difficult enough as it is, but having two creative outlets is even harder. And as a person who is simultaneously good and bad at multitasking, I’ve had to really focus on systematically picking and choosing which tasks and outlets I focus on to maintain efficiency and complete my goals. But as such is life, things do get in the way and that’s what happened in March, which caused me to have to push back the beginning of the promotional campaign by a month.
Now that I’ve gotten most of the work for the campaign done, the cover has been finalized, and I’ve submitted the book for copyright and publishing online, I can finally set a realistic date for the release of Fallen Ribbon. I wanted to wait until I had the distribution and copyright all set before setting up a date. So, thank you for your patience through all of this and as a reward for being as patient as you have been, I now give you the release date of Fallen Ribbon!
